National No SpongeBob Day is celebrated on August 15. This is the “day” when everyone in Bikini Bottom goes to a secret location to celebrate, leaving SpongeBob at home. This day is featured in the SpongeBob episode, “Gone.” It should only last one day. But in this episode, residents extended it to approximately two weeks because they love not having to deal with SpongeBob. They erect a SpongeBob statue, burn it, and then dance on the ashes on National No SpongeBob Day, a parody of the Burning Man celebration.
